Privacy Policy

The eCom Talent (“we”, “us”) is operated by The eCom Show. This policy explains what data we collect, how we use it, and your rights.
What we collect
When you sign in or use the platform, we collect:
- Account data - from your LinkedIn or Google sign-in: name, email address, profile photo, LinkedIn profile URL.
- Profile data you add - headline, location, skills, experience level, resume (uploaded by you), freelancer services and rates if you list yourself as a freelancer.
- Application and brief data - jobs you apply to, cover notes, briefs you send or receive, messages exchanged after a brief is accepted.
- Company data (employers) - company name, website, LinkedIn page, description, and information used for trust verification.
- Usage data - pages viewed, jobs viewed, and basic device/browser information needed to operate the service.
How we use it
- To match candidates with relevant jobs and freelancer briefs
- To allow employers to evaluate applicants who have applied
- To run AI-based trust verification on employer accounts and job posts, using third-party services (Anthropic Claude, Firecrawl)
- To send transactional emails: application updates, brief notifications, expiry reminders. We do not send marketing emails without separate consent.
- To prevent fraud, spam, and abuse, and to comply with legal obligations
Who can see your data
- Public profile fields (name, headline, skills, location, optional Mafia and verified badges) are visible to other signed-in users browsing jobs and freelancers.
- Resumes and contact details are not exposed publicly. Employers can view a candidate's resume only after that candidate applies to one of their jobs, via a short-lived signed link.
- Brief contents are visible only to the employer who sent the brief and the freelancer who received it. Direct messaging unlocks only after the freelancer accepts.
- Email addresses are shared with the other party only after a brief is accepted, and otherwise are not exposed in the UI.
Third-party services
We use the following processors:
- Supabase - database, authentication, and file storage
- Vercel - application hosting
- Resend - transactional email delivery
- Anthropic - AI trust verification (we do not send personal contact details for verification)
- Firecrawl - reading public company websites for verification
- LinkedIn, Google - OAuth sign-in providers
Data retention
We retain your account data while your account exists. Application and brief records are retained while either party retains an active account. You can request deletion of your account and associated data by emailing us at the address below.
Your rights
You can update or correct your profile at any time from your dashboard. To request a copy of your data, ask a question, or request deletion, email hi@theecomshow.com.
Children
The platform is not intended for users under 18. We do not knowingly collect data from children.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as the product evolves. Material changes will be communicated via email or an in-app notice.
